Riviera Maya, Mexico, August 20, 2019.- From October 29 to November 3, all Xcaret will be filled with colors, music, flavors and aromas to celebrate the traditional Festival of Life and Death Traditions that year after year gathers the rituals of the Mayan world to commemorate this masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity, as stated by Elizabeth Lugo, Executive Director of Parks and Tours Operations of Grupo Xcaret, during the presentation event held at the Xcaret Convention Center.
The 14th edition of this festival, whose main venues are the Xcaret Park and the Xcaret Mexico Hotel, will be a window to show and enhance the most representative customs that exist throughout Mexico to honor and celebrate the spirits of the loved ones. On this occasion, San Luis Potosí, as a guest state, will beautify the Day of the Dead celebration with the unique celebration of Xantolo that, to the rhythm of the potosian huapango, will guide souls to celebrate life.
As representatives of the invited destination, there was the presence of Armando Herrera Silva, Secretary of Culture of San Luis Potosí, and Arturo Esper Sulaimán, Secretary of Tourism of the same entity, who said they were proud and honored to be able to show and enhance the Xantolo as one of the most representative customs of the state and extend the reach of culture to make it converge with the wealth of traditions. from the Riviera Maya.

Proof of this is the Comparsa Xantolo that will take visitors on an epic journey through the bowels of the Huasteca Potosina. This experience would be incomplete without the visit to the interactive Hacienda “Xantolos y Xantolitos” specially prepared for the whole family, including the little ones, to experience with all their senses this magnificent celebration of San Luis Potosí through more than 21 participatory activities.
Undoubtedly, fashion lovers will be hooked on the beauty of the textile art of the state of Potosí, which will show its maximum splendor during the rebozos parade in Santa María, where the warmth of Mexican music will merge with the beautiful colors and designs of the most famous fabrics in the country.
Another must-see is the “food of souls” or Hanal Pixán, offered by the communities of the Maya Zone of Quinta Roo so that visitors delight their palates with the delicious dishes offered to the faithful deceased in this region. As well as the celebration of the solemn traditional Mexican mass of All Saints in which the spectacular view offered by the open forum of Xcaret Park will be the ideal showcase to commemorate the souls of loved ones.
Finally, the great surprise of the Festival of Life and Death Traditions 2019, will take place on November 1 and 2 when the Blue Angels take the stage of the Gran Tlachco theater in Xcaret Park to offer two gala concerts with which they will put on all the taste of cumbia and the finishing touch to this edition of the festival.
