Sargassum free beaches in Cancun

This year 2019, Cancun beaches have been threatened for a phenomenon known as sargassum. Many mass media speculate and speak about it, unfortunately, unreliable media trend to sensationalist, it provokes a negative impression about the tourist destination.

Sargassum is considered a natural disaster, but it doesn´t speak about achievement in this topic like the bioengineering progress in sargassum treatment or about the cleaning campaigns whose diary work for recollecting the seaweed.

The sargassum isn´t the problem, in fact, it´s important for ambient balance, It also is an ecosystem that guards hundred species of fish, crabs and many other species that only are in that world’s region.

Environmentalists agree that the impact of the human being in the environment ambiance like temperature increase in seawater, change of ocean currents due the global warming add to ocean pollution is generating the perfect condition for sargassum disaster.
